Fly Boy
Wow! This teenage boy blew me away. I didn't realize there was a sport of extreme pogo sticking until I met Dalton. He's training for "Pogo Palooza". Very cool. We took him and his precious brother to downtown Nashville and had him "do his thing." Amazing. He can do back flips over hedges, but mom said "no" to that one on the hard concrete downtown. Anyway, I was impressed enough with the tricks he performed. Check it out.

For Every Child Modeling Photos
What fun we've had this past month with all our little models! Janice and I traveled all over Williamson County and were blessed with amazing weather and conditions for taking these images. I can't tell you how thankful we felt to meet these amazing children and their parents. We have made many new friends through this process and discovered some new interesting places to take our clients in the future. First and foremost, we are grateful to Karen and Suzanne at For Every Child for their support, encouragement, and willingness to allow us to borrow clothing from their beautiful store so that we could shoot these portraits. We are also thankful to the parents of these children who took their time to interview with us and help out during the sessions. By the first week of October, our store portrait selections will be displayed in For Every Child, so be sure to stop by and have a look. I hear they're having a 75% off sale right now, so the timing couldn't be better! I've included some of our favorites from our sessions.

Precious Eli
Okay, I have the CUTEST Godson in the world!! Little Eli came over this morning for his 7 month pictures and we decided to do them right here at the house. Thanks to the great suggestion from my friend Judy, we had this flagstone walkway added to the side of our house to connect the driveway to the patio, and it makes a perfect spot for portraits. Eli really wanted to eat the rocks and mulch rather than pose for pictures, but he did awesome. This is one of my favorite ages to photograph because children this age are incredibly inquisitive but most haven't become clingy with mom. Don't you love this little hat? He looks like an extra in a Charles Dickens book!

Senior Portrait Season is here!
Senior portraits are becoming a larger and larger portion of our business. Sadly to say, this is the result of so many people being disappointed with the portraits they get through their school's contracted photographer. A word to the wise: you DO NOT have to purchase anything if your school requires you to use a certain photographer! Yes, you have to go to them for your picture to appear in the yearbook, but just do the bare minimum and then get an individualized session from someone else.
If you are ready for AMAZING senior portraits, we are ready for you! I love working with seniors because they are all about expressing their personalities through their pictures. We go all over--fields, urban settings--whatever reflects your style and interests. Feel free to bring as many clothing changes as you like; we usually set aside at least 1 1/2 to 2 hours for these sessions, so you have plenty of time to get in several different looks. This is your chance to get photos that are all about you! Most seniors we see haven't had their portrait made since they were very little, and most will not have another intensive photo session until they get married, so enjoy! Get ready to have fun and feel like a supermodel!

Beautiful family
Okay...so I've been very bad about blogging! It's not that I don't want to, it's just hard finding the time to do it. I'm considering going to block scheduling in order to impose some order on my life and business and hopefully schedule in things like blogging. I love to look at other blogs, and know it must be frustrating that I don't post very often.
So here it is!! My half-year resolution: I will blog more often!! There! I said it and now I can't deny it!
Here are some shots from a recent portrait session in Brentwood. I can't say enough wonderful things about this family. The love they share was so obvious during the time we spent together. They are very close and obviously respect each other a great deal. I was honored to meet them and take their pictures.
I also love the color and vibrance of their traditional attire, but I also felt something deeper coming out of these images and thought it would be best expressed in an antique sort of look. Changing from the vibrant color created a different type of mood which worked well in many of the images I captured. I did prefer the happier full color for the group shots because it better relayed the joyfulness and love in this family

Sweet children
Dennis went to the Predator's game last night, and I was dog tired getting the kids ready for bed alone. After I'd tucked them in bed, I found this sweet note on my bathroom sink. Alex, my 9 1/2 year-old, created it after his shower. If you've ready the Love Languages series, you know that we all express our love in different ways. In all honesty, this is not Alex's love language, but he was speaking mine! I love to get little notes and cards--from family, friends, long-lost acquaintances--and this totally touched my heart.
Nicole and I were scrapbooking 2 nights ago, paging through old photos of my three as babies. I couldn't believe how quickly those memories come flooding back! To see little Nicole with the pin curls all over her head, or Alex with his chubby belly wearing my high heels! Oh! What a bittersweet moment. Treasure those little ones; they are gifts from God.

Baby Eli
Hello, everyone! I really wanted to get these photos posted before I left for Las Vegas, but that just didn't happen! Two of my closest friends, Holly and Tadd, had Eli February 10th, one day before his due date. What a precious little guy! Holding him and listening to his cute little noises took me back to when my own children were born. Birth is such a miracle and a blessing from above.
It was a cloudy day and the light was pretty poor in the hospital room, so I had to photograph them as close to the window as possible. I love their serene expressions and the adoration you can see in their faces. Congratulations Holly and Tadd!
